Fayzah
is a fluid and technical dancer who is versed in various styles within
the Bellydance genre. You can catch her performing at dance festivals,
with Bellyqueen, Neville Dance Theater, with her student troupe; The
Aurea Dancers, and at special events throughout the year. In 2007, she
toured the eastern and western US, performing a bellydance/tango fusion
piece. She captures the feeling of both dance forms and passionately
weaves them together without compromise, accenting music in motion.
She is an advocate and lover of finger cymbals, and using them effectively
with different rhythms. From Folkloric and Cabaret, to Electric Tribal-Fusion
(more about Tribal-Fusion),
she was given the name "Chamelion" by her first teacher, Kathryn
Ferguson, for her ability to perform different styles effectively, capturing
their distinctive essences. Her travels throughout Egypt, also gave
her an added perspective, and cultural understanding. Audiences have
commented that the element of surprise in her dancing, is exciting to
watch. For over ten years she has studied with many of the most influential
instructors of our time, such as Suhaila Salimpor, the Fat Chance Bellydance
School, Dina, Amani of Lebanon, Yousry Shariff, Dalia Carella, Aisha
Ali, Delila, and many more! Fayzah teaches on going classes in NYC.
